The National Renewable Energy Laboratory, a U.S. Government laboratory, maintains a comprehensive bibliography of photocatalytic research published in five volumes between 1994 and 2001. It catalogs more than 6200 publications and patents since 1970. It also includes a list of more than 1000 compounds that can be treated by the photocatalytic process. In the years spanning through 1996 to 2001 alone, there were 1555 patents issued involving photocatalytic technology.
